Empresarios – Space Selector (Dub Architect Remix)

Urban Development is thrilled to offer you a brand-spanking-new remix of “Space Selector”, a tune from local heroes Empresarios reworked for maximum dub goodness by DC’s own Dub Architect. Originally appearing on Empresarios’ debut album Sabor Tropical, “Space Selector” is an outstanding track in its original form–a real standout for us from 2011. That said, Dub Architect takes things to another level with a blissed-out remix of epic proportions utilizing the vocals of Fort Knox Recordings artist Zeebo Steele (of reggae/funk group See-I) to maximum effect. We highly recommend that you make this song a part of your life. So grab the free tune below, and be sure to keep an eye out for Dub Architect’s other project, Dub Campaign, a new DMV reggae band whose debut EP, Battle on Babylon, is slated for an August 2012 release. DC making it happen, y’all!

Mothershiester – The Next Generation

Get to know the sounds of DC-based Mothershiester on this fantastic new mix, The Next Generation, showcasing a genuine plethora of styles and sounds from around the world. There’s truly something for everyone here, but as closet sci-fi nerds, we have to give love for the Borg sample at the beginning. Resistance is futile! Star Trek dorkery aside, be sure to check out Mothershiester this Sunday at Wonderland Ballroom for the next installment of SWENKA, the genre-bending brainchild of our good pal Brian Senyo. This month’s party also features DC’s DJ Munch and promises to be a proper celebration of progressive Afropolitan culture, music and style. So get yourself Swenka-ready with Mothershiester’s mix below!
